The fabric type has weeds that grow upinto it within months. This plastic nothinggrows through unless you cut it or it has arock under it that over time opens to ahole. This is the type of plastic we used inour greenhouse business and it lasted 5+years out in the fields.

These shade cloths have kept my tomatoand pepper plants producing rith throughthe current 90+ days that have beenpresent for nearly three weeks now.Unprotected plants that l used as a controlfor this experiment ahve droppedblossoms and some fruit too. The shadecloth is a winner.

l have shade cloths that are 50% and 70%.This one states that it is 40%, but it seemsto provide much less shade than the 50%shade cloth I have from an agriculturalsupplier. On the positive side, it certainly islightweight and easy to maneuver and ifyou are looking for light shade, I wouldthink it could be used on most any veggie crop.

Bought this 40% sun block fabric toprotect my young hot pepper plants from10 hours of direct sunlight per day. After amonth, they're all healthy but also growingwell/getting enough sun. This fabric alsoserves to keep the birds from eating mypeppers, which they have done in the pastbecause birds are immune to capcaisin.This fabric has held up well, and rain goesright through it.
